What is Telepsychiatry?

Psychiatric care where quality of care and convenience of care is matched. It’s just that simple! Telepsychiatry has been around for years and is growing rapidly as a result of the pandemic. Appointments are made easy with the use of a smartphone or a computer using only secure, encrypted, HIPAA compliant methods of communication. In order to custom tailor your treatment plan, you may require frequent visits, especially during the first month. Telepsychiatry is an excellent option if you suffer from disorders such as anxiety, depression and ADHD. Telepsychiatry is likely not an appropriate option of you suffer from psychotic disorders/schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, have active substance abuse/addiction problems and active self-harm. Benzodiazepines are generally not started in this practice.

How Telepsychiatry works:

Book a Session
Select a time based around your schedule. No crowded waiting rooms. Once booked, a secure and encrypted video visit will take place at the time of your session as your privacy is a priority.

Initial visit
Your initial visit includes a detailed, comprehensive initial psychiatric evaluation using clinical assessment skills to identify problem areas and recommend an individualized treatment plan. If medications are prescribed, the best options based on your goals and personal lifestyle will be recommended. This visit typically lasts 45 minutes.

Follow-ups
These sessions take place after the initial visit to help evaluate and monitor your progress, track improvement of symptoms, establish new goals, and discuss any side effects or questions you have about your treatment. These visits typically last 20-25 minutes depending on progress.
